Our PHPA in Ireland is specifically formulated for oilfield drilling and shale inhibition. It is widely used in drilling sector, including ONGC projects, for superior borehole stability. This polymer is designed to handle the tough geological conditions found in the Ireland region.
Being anionic in nature, PHPA molecules attach to the positively charged edges of clay platelets, effectively binding them together. This encapsulation mechanism prevents cuttings from dispersing, making solids removal more efficient. Additionally, it forms a protective layer that slows water penetration into the shale, preventing swelling and erosion.
Technical Note: PHPA is highly stable but high temperature or high pH (>10.5) conditions should be monitored, as they can accelerate polymer hydrolysis and release ammonia traces. It should be added regularly while drilling shale sections to maintain consistent protective concentration.
