PHPA Polymer for Oil Drilling in France

Our PHPA in France is specifically formulated for oilfield drilling and shale inhibition. It is widely used in drilling sector, including ONGC projects, for superior borehole stability. This polymer is designed to handle the tough geological conditions found in the France region.

How It Works

Being anionic in nature, PHPA molecules attach to the positively charged edges of clay platelets, effectively binding them together. This encapsulation mechanism prevents cuttings from dispersing, making solids removal more efficient. Additionally, it forms a protective layer that slows water penetration into the shale, preventing swelling and erosion.

Key Benefits & Applications

  • Shale Stabilization: Restricts the interaction of water with hydratable shales, preventing wellbore collapse.
  • Fluid Loss Control: Functions as a highly efficient fluid loss reducer in fresh water, sea water, and brine systems.
  • Cuttings Encapsulation: Coats drill cuttings to prevent dispersion and improve mechanical removal at the surface.
  • Compatibility: Fully compatible with PAC, CMC, biopolymers, and most drilling fluid products.
  • Enhanced Viscosity: Helps in better hole cleaning by providing optimal carrying capacity for drill cuttings.

Technical Note: PHPA is highly stable but high temperature or high pH (>10.5) conditions should be monitored, as they can accelerate polymer hydrolysis and release ammonia traces. It should be added regularly while drilling shale sections to maintain consistent protective concentration.
